BALE ON FORM

Gareth Bale became the world’s most expensive player when he joined Real Madrid on September as the Spanish titans had to pay €91 million for the Welshman winger and his start in Spain took a blow as he got injured and failed to live up to his huge price tag.

After his recovery was complete, the Welshman stepped up to the plate and with a series of impressive performances with Real Madrid he managed to make it into the list of contenders for the 2013 Fifa Ballon d’Or and even though he failed on actually grabbing it, he still managed to make it into the Uefa.com team of the year.

The team includes: Manuel Neuer, Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva, Philipp Lahm, David Alaba, Franck Ribery, Marco Reus, Mesut Ozil, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil was the only Premier League player that was named into the team and even though Lionel Messi came 2nd for the Ballon d’Or, the Argentine was not added and considered to be one of the best players of 2013.

Real Madrid blasted 5 goals past Real Betis during their latest La Liga match and Bale helped out his team by scoring the 2nd goal. When the match was over, Ancelotti was delighted by the performance of his team.

“Bale performed well, but so did everyone else in the team. There was big pressure in the beginning. But everything went well, so we have to be happy. When we scored the first goal, the game changed. We had more spaces it’s normal that Betis attacked trying to get a draw. All the team played well, we had lots of chances to score it was a great match from our point of view.” Ancelotti said.

It was a fairly important victory not only for Real Madrid but Gareth Bale particularly because he was suffering from a calf injury some days ago prior to the match against Real Betis and now seems to be back in form.
