Apart from Gareth Bale, the other Madrid players with Covid-19 are backup Ukrainian goalkeeper AndriyLunin, young Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes, veteran Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, club skipper Marcelo and Spanish winger Marco Asensio who scored one of the goals as Real Madrid beat city rivals and Spanish champions Atletico Madrid 2-0 at home in a recent La Liga Madrid Derby game.Asensio doubled the lead in the second half to secure the three points on offer after stand-up skipper Karim Benzema had given the 13-time European champions the lead in the first half.

The news concerning Alaba and Isco means that eight Real Madrid players have now tested positive for the aforementioned virus. None of the players will be in the Real Madrid squad for the Athletic Bilbao game on Wednesday as far as the Spanish La Liga is concerned. To this effect, Welsh football icon Gareth Bale won’t be in the Madrid squad for the league trip to the San Mames. Real Madrid would be hoping to get back to winning ways after they were forced to a goalless draw by Cadiz in their league outing at the weekend.

Real Madrid have a lot of absentees for the Bilbao game just like what’s obtainable with their hosts. It has been established that the La Liga leaders will be missing eight players for the game, while the home team will miss the services of four of their players including the Spanish senior national team duo of Inigo Martinez and Unai Simon.
